Dos and Don'ts When You Make Your Own Website
If you want to build a website, there are certain things that you should do and others that you should definitely avoid. Here is the list of the most common mistakes and recommended things:
Don'ts:

- Don't use music. It's really unpleasant when you click on a website and you hear loud music. The visitor might disturb co-workers or members of their household. No one wants to hear music automatically. If you really want to share some songs, add a player that will get activated only if the visitor clicks on it.
Dos
- Do use only your own images and materials. Don't copy paste content from other sites or use pictures without the permission of the copyright owner. You might get into serious trouble.
- Do respect the privacy of your visitors. If you create a newsletter and they subscribe, don't send anything else but useful content. No spams or advertisements or they'll unsubscribe and never come back to your website.
- Do ask for opinions regarding the site. Ask a few friends or family members to give you their honest opinion. Sometimes, you might think that the website looks great, but someone else might regard it as disorganized and hard to navigate. Also, ask them to navigate to find a certain article, to see how well can someone find something on your website. It will help you know better how to build a website for the visitors to like it.
- Do check all your links. The broken ones should be removed. If you delete something, delete the link that lead to it too.
